PPSC Committee, as the main committee, has established the following 6 sub-committees to look into the key aspects of the upstream industry.
Membership in the sub-committees are open to all PPSC members. The sub-committees focus on issues of concern to members and carry out assignments as requested by the main committee.
Fiscal and Economics Sub–Committee(F&E)
1. To recommend changes and improvements to the fiscal regime and pursue the initiative with PETRONAS and the Government, through PPSC Committee.
2. To analyse and review new and potential changes to the fiscal regime so as to assess the impact on the industry and recommend actions as appropriate.
3. To strengthen relationship-building with the Government, particularly at the working level of the Ministry of Finance and other regulatory bodies, with a view to enhancing the understanding and awareness of the upstream oil and gas industry, and its substantive contribution towards the country’s economic well-being.
4. To work specifically on current fiscal and economic issues of common interest.
Development and Operations Sub-Committee(D&O)
1. To share and work together among the oil and gas upstream players on best practices and policies, resources and benchmarking opportunities in Development and Operation. Areas particularly in HSSE, training and development and operational excellence.
2. A common voice to and with PETRONAS or Government bodies, as agreed with PETRONAS, on common issues confronting the oil and gas upstream players in upstream development and operation areas.
Exploration Sub–Committee
1. To promote the timely offering of new exploration and attractive acreage terms & conditions through dialogue with PETRONAS through the PPSC Committee.
2. To share information on exploration and production activities.
Procurement Sub–Committee
1. To address procurement process improvement initiative with PETRONAS through the PPSC Committee.
2. To share information on market trends for critical materials and other matters relating to procurement.
Human Resources Sub–Committee (HR)
1. To share issues, concerns, best practices that will provide mutual benefit to the members of HR community.
2. To engage with PETRONAS and other organisations on HR matters for continuous improvement and enhancement through the PPSC Committee.
Decarbonisation Sub-Committee
- To share any issues, concerns, and best practices that would provide mutual benefit to the PACs Environmental / Decarbonisation community as well as providing feedback to PETRONAS and other organisations for their continuous improvement.
Areas of discussion:
- Policies and frameworks supporting CCS developments or any other decarbonisation-related initiatives.
- Decarbonisation Best Practices including emerging technologies
